Process Documentation & Optimization
PROCESS DOCUMENTATION
The Issue: Process documentation is one of the most overlooked areas for small to mid-sized businesses. Most owners view this function as either overly tedious or they prefer the quick fix of just training each new hire directly. The problem with this is that it, 1) means that only one person truly understands the business processes (if they leave the business, or go on vacation, then no one else knows what to do), and 2) it forces the owner, or manager, to always be involved in training new hires instead of providing self-help process walkthroughs.

The Solution: Allow Stewart Consulting to learn and document your existing workflows. From there, we create in-depth process walkthroughs in PDF format with pictures and videos. These guides can serve as training guides for new hires, as refreshers, or as in-depth walkthroughs of complicated tasks.

PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
The Issue: Process optimization is the natural next step after learning and documenting existing workflows. The place where most managers, or consultants, go astray is that they fail to truly learn existing workflows and why the business has been operating in the way that is has. There is generally a very good reason for why businesses make the choices that they do! There is no one size fits all approach and there is no need to dramatically change workflows just for the sake of change.
The Solution: At this stage, Stewart Consulting has already documented the existing workflow and has also learned the "why" behind the business's decisions to operate as it does. This allows us to focus towards simplifying a business's workflows (i.e eliminating duplicate steps), re-arranging processes (i.e better quality control up front), and introducing small changes to improve efficiency.
Marketing Strategy & Implementation
The Issue: Most businesses approach marketing as an afterthought, or one-off, where they set aside a marketing budget and then hope that some their ads bring in customers. However, too often there is no conversion tracking so no one really knows if their marketing campaign is making money or not. Additionally, many consulting firms provide "marketing strategy" but don't have in-depth knowledge of how to actually dive into an website's HTML/CSS to promote Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or how to build out Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns, with conversion tracking and analytics, from the ground up.

Finally, a truly excellent marketing strategy also needs to include online, targeted, press releases along with a viable email marketing campaign to cross-sell existing customers and new leads. Most small to mid-size businesses have no analytics built into their websites and are unable to track the revenue associated with their Pay Per Click (PPC) conversions.

The Solution: Stewart Consulting truly excels in strategic and technical aspects of marketing. Stewart Consulting will perform a holistic review for all of the following items: Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns on AdWords & AdCenter, conversion/revenue tracking tags, website health metrics and analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) research and updates, SEO performance monitoring reports, provide email marketing utilities with branded email templates, and can create and distribute online press releases.

Centralized Management Software
The Issue: Most businesses have an assortment of separate systems that they use for processes, such as: order entry, historical order information, revenue reports, customer service tickets/issues, and so forth. As an example, any given company might utilize google spreadsheet for order information, Quickbooks for quotes/invoices, email for customer service tickets, and so forth.

This mixed bag of products makes it difficult for any one employee to perform the full sales cycle of taking a phone call and looking up a customer, issuing a quote or taking payment on an order, and answering customer service requests. In the end, businesses end up hiring additional employees to cover each area spending additional time training employees for each task.

The Solution: Virtually every industry has some sort of affordable, centralized, customer management software that can be used. Stewart Consulting can take your existing systems and centralize them into one or two main software products for easier order flow and management.
An example would be 1) moving all the above systems into one customer management system that contains customer info, quotes/orders/invoices, processes payments, and tracks order status, and 2) instituting a single customer service ticket system onto the business website.
Stewart Consulting can research the best products to use and also work to integrate them into your business without disrupting the existing customers.
